The Darwin Delusion

Darwin Delusion - Free lecture

Come to this challenging illustrated Lecture, which reveals the weaknesses of Darwin's theory of evolution compared to the Bible's teaching of Creation. Dr Hellawell will show the evidence for design behind the wonders of nature and that belief in God as the Creator makes sense. Recent atheist advertising read, "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." We believe there is a God, who created the world and cares about us. We don't worry, we enjoy life now and, by God's grace, eternally.

"Darwin Day", the 12th February 2009, is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth. His book, On the Origin of Species, published 150 years ago, introduced the theory of evolution. Unlike major scientific ideas, such as those of Newton and Einstein, which were proven and adopted quickly, the theory of evolution is still a source of contention. Darwin recognised the inadequacy of the supporting evidence in his own day, but assumed that as scientific knowledge increased, for example in the study of fossils, the theory would be confirmed.

In reality, scientific research reveals the living world is far more complex than Darwin imagined and the theory becomes less credible with every new discovery. Recently, many scientists have concluded there is evidence of design in our living world and the life it supports. The Bible identifies God as the One who designed our universe and controls it. The "Darwin Delusion" has been exposed.

John Hellawell's doctorate is in vertebrate ecology. Now retired, his career was spent as a college lecturer, a research scientist and as a manager in the water industry, latterly also with English Nature, His main interest now is Biblical studies.

Copies of his booklet "Creation or Evolution" and a DVD "The Bible and Science - Facts and Theories" and other free information will be available to those attending the Lecture.
